Calculation method: the target date is found by adding or subtracting whole calendar days at UTC midnight, so time zones and daylight saving changes never shift the answer. The direction selector controls past vs. future; the number field accepts zero or positive whole numbers only.

What a Days From Today Calculator Does

A Days From Today calculator answers a simple question: if you count a certain number of calendar days forward or backward from a starting date, what date do you land on? Enter 30, choose "In the Future," and it tells you the exact date 30 days from now. Choose "In the Past" instead, and it tells you what date it was 30 days ago. The starting point is today by default, but you can also pick any custom start date.

How to Calculate a Future Date

To find a future date, enter the number of days and keep the direction set to "In the Future," then press Calculate Date. The calculator adds that many calendar days to the reference date using proper calendar arithmetic, so month and year boundaries are handled for you. For example, 30 days after January 1 is January 31, and 60 days after January 1 crosses into March.

How to Calculate a Date in the Past

Switch the direction to "In the Past" and enter the number of days. The calculator subtracts that many calendar days from the reference date. For instance, 7 days before January 1, 2026 is December 25, 2025. The direction selector controls past vs. future, so the number field only accepts zero or positive whole numbers.

Examples: 7, 30, and 90 Days

These are the spans people look up most:

  • 7 days is exactly one week. Useful for weekly deadlines, follow-ups, and short countdowns.
  • 30 days is roughly one month. Common for billing cycles, trial periods, and monthly planning.
  • 90 days is roughly one quarter. Often used for project milestones, visa stays, and quarterly goals.

Try the preset buttons above the Calculate button to get any of these instantly.

Calendar Days vs. Business Days

This calculator counts calendar days: every day on the calendar, including weekends and public holidays. It does not skip Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays, and it makes no assumptions about working days. If you need business days, count the calendar-day result first and then adjust for weekends and holidays in your region.

Why Leap Years and Month Lengths Matter

Not every month has 30 days, and February gains a 29th day in leap years. Adding "30 days" to February 1 gives March 2 in a common year but March 1 in a leap year. The calculator follows the Gregorian calendar, so February 29, leap years, and months of 28, 30, or 31 days are all handled automatically. You never need to adjust the result yourself.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is 0 days a valid entry?

Yes. Entering 0 returns the reference date itself, which is today unless you picked a custom start date.

Does the calculator include today in the count?

No. The count starts from the reference date and moves forward or backward by the number you enter. Entering 1 day in the future gives tomorrow, not today.

Can I use a start date other than today?

Yes. Click "Use a custom start date instead of today" and pick any date. The calculation then runs from the date you chose.

How large a number can I enter?

Up to 36,500 days (about 100 years). Larger values are rejected to keep results meaningful.

Are my dates sent anywhere?

No. Like the Days Between Two Dates and Weeks Between Two Dates calculators, everything runs locally in your browser. Your dates never leave your device.
